The day also marked the inauguration of several projects. Prof Khosla laid the foundation stone for Shoolini Yogananda Ayush Medicity, which will specialise in Ayurvedic treatment and research. Prof Khosla stated that the university will focus on educating the youth about Indian treatment methods.
At The Cancer Research Center, an SRP incubator for research students was inaugurated. It will help them grow and maintain microbiological culture.
The Chancellor dedicated the Vrindavan garden and waterfall, a wooden hut, a wheelchair for the disabled, and the Ranganathan reading room within the Yogananda library, which was created specifically for students preparing for competitive exams.

The first International Conference on Financial Crime Studies hosted at Shoolini University was a huge success. The Centre for Financial Crime Studies, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University, organised the event in the virtual mode in collaboration with the Financial Crime Lab, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences.
The main theme of the two-day conference, which concluded on Saturday, was to make the concept of financial crimes understandable and to raise public awareness about the non-physical crime.
The first day featured a panel discussion where experts from four countries shared their perspectives on various types of financial crime. Prof Victor Matchekhin, Prof Vladmir Khiz, Prof Yana Ustinova, and Prof Olga Rozhnova from Russia were among the invited guests, along with Prof Hotnair and Prof Dharma Tintri from Indonesia.
These speakers discussed international tax laws and financial crimes in their respective countries. Prof NK Gupta, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University, provided an overview of financial crime and its consequences. Prof Narinder Verma, Shoolini University, discussed how untraceable gold is becoming a major source of financial crime.
Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla provided an overview of financial crimes, followed by Vice-Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, who provided live examples of financial crimes from his experience as a consultant in leading multinational corporations around the world.
The second day of the conference focused on cybercrime, with participants discussing cryptocurrency and blockchain, how financial crimes changed during the COVID-19 scenario, and how auditors can help. Around 20 participants presented their research on various types of financial crimes ranging from environmental issues to drug mafia and flesh trade.
Later, Prof Petter Gottschalk of Norway discussed how financial crimes can be studied using convenience theory and demonstrated this with case studies.

Recently, its Literature Society, Belletristic, has been expanding its horizons, crossing borders, and bringing within its ambit discussions on subjects that are not pure literature but allied to the Liberal Arts. A few weeks earlier, the Society had organised a discussion on political affairs in the USA before and after Donald Trump. And now, it has another feather in its cap with a Gender Studies Seminar held online.
The speakers of the day were young enterprising women who aim at bringing about a change in society. Vandita Sharma is an alumna of the National Institute of Design, has worked in the area of spatial design, brand experience, user research and system design. Deepani Seth is a design researcher, designer, and illustrator. Shambhawi Vikram is a PhD candidate with the Centre for Women’s Studies at JNU; Arushi is an IIT Delhi and Harvard alumnus, the founder of Ashvattha, a Jaipur based social enterprise and anchors the collective Pink City feminist. Swarnima is currently serving as the Curator of Global Shapers (a World Economic Forum initiative) at the New Delhi Hub. Ankita Verma teaches at Shoolini University and has a PhD in Human Resources.
The broad title of the day-long seminar was ‘Women and Gender Studies’. This was further divided into three panels that focused on Women’s Issues in India, Women and Health Rights, and Gender Inclusive Design. There were a total of six speakers, who articulated their views with great passion and conviction. While Shambhawi Vikram and Arushi spoke about the Pinjra Tod movement and the Pink City Women’s movement, Vandita Sharma and Deepani Seth focused on women-centred design, and Ankita and Swarnima elaborated on how health issues among women were generally ignored in a patriarchal society.
The event provided plenty of food for thought and the Q and A sessions were lengthy and impassioned. Samrat Sharma, who conceptualised the event, was the moderator, along with Purnima Bali and Sakshi Sundaram. Senior professors of the Faculty, Tej Nath Dhar and Manju Jaidka also participated in the discussion. Neeraj Pizar deftly managed the technical aspects of the online event. The seminar was streamed live online and reached out to a large audience.
Creating a sustainable future is a top priority. Keeping this in mind, Shoolini University held the first round of the National Environment Youth Parliament 2022 — ‘Nurturing Environment Leaders’. The event is being organised by Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi (PSG) on an all-India level to sensitise the youth about the prevailing environmental issues posing a serious threat to safety and welfare of human beings.
Inaugurating the event in the virtual mode, Shoolini University Chancellor Prof Prem Kumar Khosla focused on the importance of Sustainability Development Goals and the initiative taken by the university for the same.
Healing Himalayas founder Pradeep Sangwan, who has done immense work in cleaning the Himalayan belt, was the guest of honour. Senior Journalist and Director, School of Journalism and Mass communication, Vipin Pubby; EarthJust founder member Abhishek Taneja and Cool the Globe app founder Prachi Sheogaonkar were the judges.
After an interesting and informative session, the top five winners were chosen for the next round to represent the university. They are Abhishek Kumar Gupta from the Faculty of Management Sciences, Agamroop Kaur and Ananya Manishi from the Department of Biotechnology, Ankush Kumar from the Faculty of Core Engineering, and Mansha Goel from the Faculty of Legal Sciences.
