In a unique initiative, the Faculty of Management Sciences, Shoolini University, organised a 21-day Advanced Training Programme (ATP) for students to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities. Advanced Training Program offered a unique learning experience to MBA students helping them build general skills needed across the board by leading organizations making students industry-ready. ?

It was a unique endeavour to prepare each MBA final year student for careers in top Global and Indian MNCs. The residential programme was designed based on the inputs from the industry and a thorough analysis of job descriptions of targeted companies.

During the 21-day programme, the students received hands-on experience in domains like finance and investment, business process design and operations, retail, banking, insurance & wealth management, marketing and branding, Human resources and people skills, business analytics, social media marketing, and business research and consulting.

The programme was developed under the guidance and supervision of Vice-Chancellor, Prof Atul Khosla and Dean, Dr Kuldeep Rojhe. Dr Prachi Kapil coordinated the entire programme along with core team members Dr Amar Rao and Dr Nitin Gupta. The expert sessions were taken by professionals from the industry like Prof Atul Khosla, Mr Amit Khanna (Ex Mckinsey), Mr Mukesh Goswami, Mr Pradeep Sharma (Ex HR Head Mercer), Mr Sanjeev Singh (Ex HR P&G), Mr Ashish Khosla (Chief Executive Officer at AADDOO.AI), Ms Nishtha Anand (PenPundits) and many more.

Shoolini University hosted the National Science Day, ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ under the STUTI Programme supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in association with the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumental Facility, Panjab University, on Monday.

Students and faculty members of six premier schools from Solan, Shimla and Kasauli were present during the programme.

In his address, Chancellor Prof PK Khosla emphasised the importance of scientific journals and research publications. Talking about Sir CV Raman’s life and his discovery, he said, “The only profession that will make you immortal is science.” He welcomed all students to Shoolini University, saying, “the burden is on you to make India a science-driven country.”

Vice Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla discussed skills that can make us all winners in the future. He spoke with the students about their future and the future of science. Elaborating on the value of teamwork, he shared anecdotes about his college days and used real-life examples to discuss the convergence of science and mathematics. “In the future, collaboration will be the most important skill to succeed,” he emphasized.

The event began with the Lamp Lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, followed by faculty felicitation from various schools. The Microbiologist Society of India also launched its Microbiology Calendar. Shoolini University Registrar Sunil Puri, Dean Student Welfare Poonam Nanda, Dr Ashoo Khosla, Prof Kuldeep Chand Rojhe, and Dr Anuradha Sourirajan were among those present at the event.

Shoolini University celebrated Prerna Diwas to mark the birthday of Chancellor Prof PK Khosla, the founder of the university, on Friday with Pooja and Hawan at the Shoolini temple inside the campus. A patriot, an Oxford University alumnus, a visionary, & an educationist, Prof Khosla has been an inspiration to many.

The day also marked the inauguration of several projects. Prof Khosla laid the foundation stone for Shoolini Yogananda Ayush Medicity, which will specialise in Ayurvedic treatment and research. Prof Khosla stated that the university will focus on educating the youth about Indian treatment methods.

At The Cancer Research Center, an SRP incubator for research students was inaugurated. It will help them grow and maintain microbiological culture.

The Chancellor dedicated the Vrindavan garden and waterfall, a wooden hut, a wheelchair for the disabled, and the Ranganathan reading room within the Yogananda library, which was created specifically for students preparing for competitive exams.

Prof Khosla also inaugurated the Biotech Gallery, which focuses on Women Pioneers in Research. “We should bring school students to see the contribution of these great women,” said Prof Khosla.

Dr Anuradha Saurirajan provided a synopsis of featured researchers and their contributions to medicine.

At the Ayush Medicity, a tree-planting ceremony was held. It was followed by a cricket match between the Chancellor’s 11 and the Registrar’s 11.

The first International Conference on Financial Crime Studies hosted at Shoolini University was a huge success. The Centre for Financial Crime Studies, Faculty of Legal Sciences, Shoolini University, organised the event in the virtual mode in collaboration with the Financial Crime Lab, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences.

The main theme of the two-day conference, which concluded on Saturday, was to make the concept of financial crimes understandable and to raise public awareness about the non-physical crime.

The first day featured a panel discussion where experts from four countries shared their perspectives on various types of financial crime. Prof Victor Matchekhin, Prof Vladmir Khiz, Prof Yana Ustinova, and Prof Olga Rozhnova from Russia were among the invited guests, along with Prof Hotnair and Prof Dharma Tintri from Indonesia.

These speakers discussed international tax laws and financial crimes in their respective countries. Prof NK Gupta, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University, provided an overview of financial crime and its consequences. Prof Narinder Verma, Shoolini University, discussed how untraceable gold is becoming a major source of financial crime.

Shoolini University Chancellor Prof PK Khosla provided an overview of financial crimes, followed by Vice-Chancellor Prof Atul Khosla, who provided live examples of financial crimes from his experience as a consultant in leading multinational corporations around the world.

The second day of the conference focused on cybercrime, with participants discussing cryptocurrency and blockchain, how financial crimes changed during the COVID-19 scenario, and how auditors can help. Around 20 participants presented their research on various types of financial crimes ranging from environmental issues to drug mafia and flesh trade.

Later, Prof Petter Gottschalk of Norway discussed how financial crimes can be studied using convenience theory and demonstrated this with case studies.

Prof Chetan Chittalakar, Director of the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, concluded the conference by sharing his knowledge and quoting ‘shlokas’ from the Bhagavad Gita to discuss corruption.
